Love Triangle(s)

Posted by Picasa
Singapore, last year on my way to India. Shoppers paradise.. I don't remember the shopping mall but had an interesting meeting, journey, visit, and trip there... :) among triangles and squares...

Shopping during 'Durga Puja' WAS and WILL remain an interesting and memorable moment for any kid growing up in bengal or from bengal..any bong will know the pulse of shopping..during these days..my tribute to those memories...

Did not notice..when I took the snap but there are about 100 triangles and/or squares in there :)

Ya Devi Sarva ..Bhuteshu..

Srishti Rupesha...Namastasayi...Namo Namaah....!!

That's what you hear all 5 days starting from Mahashasti...if you are in Bengal.. or anywhere where Durga Puja is celebrated...Last year I gave a surprise to my parents by showing up at home late night during puja..it was wonderful to see there smile..This year puja is late..but will walk through the memoirs of last year..

Shashti - the day Ma Durga comes home after fighting the deamon 'Mahishashur'. She comes home for 5 days to relax after the tedious fight and victory over him... As a ritual on shasti, she is given all her abhushan (weapon and tools) for the next 5 days she stays with us. Unlike Mahabharath and Ramayan, I find extremely mythological...I have failed to understand the real connection between Dusherra (the real return of King Rama) and Bijoydashmai or Durga Puja. Although, there is a mention that Rama worships Durga, before heading to Lanka for the final fight after Laxman was captured and attacked by Ravana. Am yet to figure out the parallel or the connection between these two stories...the mythology and the reality...
